Members Preview “Gordon Parks: Stokely Carmichael and Black Power”

Members Preview | Gordon Parks: Stokely Carmichael and Black Power

MFAH members are invited to enjoy early access to Gordon Parks: Stokely Carmichael and Black Power before the exhibition opens to the public on October 16.

In 1967, Life magazine published a groundbreaking profile of Black Power activist Stokely Carmichael by Gordon Parks, one of the 20th century’s preeminent American photographers. This exhibition features Parks’s images from the article, along with never-published photographs and contact sheets, and footage of Carmichael’s speeches and interviews.
