The AIA Collection
Since 1999, the MFAH has collaborated with the Houston chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) to create a design collection by international architects of the past and present within the Museum's department of decorative arts, craft, and design.
The Beck Collection
The renowned John A. and Audrey Jones Beck Collection features more than 75 remarkable paintings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Though it focuses on French Impressionism, the collection also encompasses pre-Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, and early Modernist works.
The Gitter-Yelen Collection
The collection features masterworks of Zen painting and calligraphy, illustrating the teachings, humor, and philosophy of Zen Buddhism through legendary encounters between monks and rulers.
The Straus Collection
The donation of an exceptionally fine collection of Italian Renaissance paintings and sculptures as well as works from the Northern school, and several English and French works, was made to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, in 1941.
The Stuart Collection
The Stuart Collection features British landscapes of the 18th and 19th centuries, anchored by John Constable’s oil sketch of the River Stour, a gift to the MFAH from the Stuart family in 2017.
