Member Moment | Yayoi Kusama’s “Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity”

Member Moment | Yayoi Kusama’s Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity

MFAH members are invited to experience Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity before it opens to the public.

One of Yayoi Kusama’s signature Infinity Rooms, Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity is a meditative, intimate work of art. As you stand in the center, golden lights ignite and then fade away.

Given the nature of this immersive experience, only a few individuals may enter the room at a time, so secure your tickets in advance. As a courtesy, and to allow as many members as possible to be accommodated, please reserve tickets only when you are sure you can attend. If tickets are not available for your desired date and time, you can visit the installation soon when it opens permanently as a part of general admission, which is free for members.

What to Know Before You Arrive
• This room-size installation is an immersive work of art that may be enjoyed by up to three individuals at a time.
The installation consists of a mirror-lined chamber with LED lights that cycle on and off, and a moment of total darkness when a door closes behind you. Guests with sensitivity to enclosed spaces and flashing lights are advised to bypass this experience.
Please arrive five minutes prior to the time stated on your ticket. Late arrivals may be assigned a new time.
The experience inside the room lasts approximately one minute.
The installation is located on the street level of the Kinder Building in Gallery 100.
