Core Program Lecture | Karyn Olivier

October 20, 2022

The 2022–2023 Core Program Lecture Series opens with this talk by artist Karyn Olivier, who has a long career in the realm of public art. Her artistic practice merges multiple histories and collective memory with present-day narratives. Actively engaged in reinterpreting the role of monuments, Olivier has created both temporary and permanent sculptures and installations. With recurring themes of absence, invisibility, and displacement, the artist intervenes in “blind spots”—unseen and unconsidered spaces—drawing attention to the periphery.

Plan Your Visit Core Program lectures are open to the public, and admission is free. This event takes place in Favrot Auditorium at the Glassell School of Art. Seating is limited, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
