Junior School Scholarships
The Glassell Junior School offers scholarships through two opportunities each year: the Portfolio Competition in March, and the Outdoor Sketching Competition in April.
Portfolio Competition
2023 Digital Portfolio Competition
The Glassell Junior School offers scholarships through a digital portfolio competition to elementary, middle, and high school students. Scholarship awards are for one weekly class beginning with the fall semester in September 2023. Classes are available on weekdays after school, and also on Saturday and Sunday. Scholarship students may pick the class in their age group that best fits their schedule.
Scholarships for the 2023–24 School Year
The competition is through digital work only—physical student artwork is not accepted.
- Students may apply on Friday, March 3, 2023, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Glassell Junior School, 5101 Montrose Boulevard.
- Good quality images of 8 to 10 pieces of original student work must be submitted on a flash drive or CD along with the application. Students should include only their best and most recent work, completed in the previous 18 months.
- The application must accompany the flash drive or CD. Forms must be filled out completely and legibly. Incomplete applications, and those with an insufficient number of images, will not be considered. If you are a current Junior School student, please check with your instructor for any additional requirements.
- Winners are notified by mail, by the end of April. The pickup date for flash drives and CDs is Friday, April 21, 2023.
Please do not call for names of winners. Email juniorschool@mfah.org for additional assistance.
