On opening day, the curators of Crowning the North: Silver Treasures from Bergen, Norway offer an inside look at the exhibition. Remarkable works of art showcasing the timeless craft of Norwegian silversmiths and goldsmiths provide a fascinating overview of global trade, taste, and fashion from the 16th to early 20th century. The objects range from spoons, tankards, and sugar bowls to elaborate ceremonial wedding crowns and fantastical vessels.

Morten Spjøtvold is the curator of decorative arts and design at Kode Bergen Art Museum in Norway.
