Leonor Will Never Die

Movies Houstonians Love

Presented by Cybil Pallugna-Saenz, Filipinx multimedia artist

In this innovative blend of pulp-action homages, playful comedy, and touching family drama, the fictional Leonor Reyes—formerly a groundbreaking figure in the Filipino film industry—is now overwhelmed by life’s challenges. While revisiting an unfinished script about a man avenging his brother’s murder, Leonor is struck on the head. Comatose in the hospital, her mind blurs fantasy and reality: Suddenly she’s inside her script, becoming the hero of her own story. Leonor Will Never Die earned the Special Jury Prize for Innovative Spirit at the Sundance Film Festival.
