Jewelry Trunk Show
Jewelry Trunk Show | March 30, 2023
The Heirloom Project is an artisan initiative that features the work of makers from historically Islamic lands who preserve traditional techniques and design principles. Many of the products are inspired by the new MFAH galleries for Art of the Islamic Worlds.
In conjunction with the new galleries, the MFA Shop hosts an exclusive Jewelry Trunk Show showcasing three ateliers:
- Sharon Khazzam
The New York–based jewelry designer has partnered with Turquoise Mountain and their master artisans in Jordan to create handcrafted necklaces, featuring marquetry patterns made of gold-plated silver and natural gemstones.
- Mahnaz Collection
New York City’s trusted gallery for modernist vintage and contemporary jewelry made by designers, goldsmiths, artists, and architects is well known for jewelry that stands the test of time.
- Silvia Furmanovich
The Brazilian designer combines her meticulous attention to detail with a passion for innovative craftsmanship, creating pieces with wood marquetry, ebony, oxidized copper, shells, woven bamboo, and the dazzling colored gemstones for which Brazil is known.
MFAH members have early access during the Members Preview on Wednesday, March 29. Not a member? Join today!
