Family Day at Bayou Bend “The Cup That Cheers”

Visit Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens for an afternoon of family-friendly fun discovering the histories of three hot beverages: tea, coffee, and chocolate. Enjoy art-making activities and performances inspired by tea leaves, cocoa beans, and the trade centers that cultivated the spread of the crops.

- 1:30 p.m. Music and storytelling: “Jo-Jo Gitcho Banjo” by JAWAD
- 3 p.m. “Dance across India” by Silambam Houston
- 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Storytelling: The Empty Pot, read by David Allen
Activities
- Enjoy historical games, and painting with tea and coffee on the Diana Lawn.
- Discover Children’s History Pockets inside the house.
- Sample tea, coffee, and hot chocolate at the refreshment table.
