Ann Dumas, consulting curator for European art, provides an insider’s look at Vertigo of Color: Matisse, Derain, and the Origins of Fauvism. The exhibition reveals how the partnership of Henri Matisse and André Derain changed the course of French painting. Find out more about the summer they spent in a French fishing village, their daring experiments with energetic bursts of color, and the meaning behind “Fauvism.”
