Panel Discussion | Opening Day “Kehinde Wiley: An Archaeology of Silence”

November 19, 2023

On opening day of Kehinde Wiley: An Archaeology of Silence, curators Anita Bateman, Valerie Cassel Oliver, and Claudia Schmuckli talk with artist Anthony Suber about the exhibition.

One of the world’s most important contemporary artists, Kehinde Wiley captures profound narratives in An Archaeology of Silence. His large-scale, heroic works of art explore police brutality and Black and Brown lives lost to violence, through deeply personal studies of individuals. The exhibition premiered earlier this year at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, and the MFAH is the first stop on the tour.
