Concert | “None Whatsoever: Zen Paintings from the Gitter-Yelen Collection”


The MFAH and the DaCamera Young Artists present a free concert inspired by the exhibition None Whatsoever: Zen Paintings from the Gitter-Yelen Collection.

The performers include Arthur Gilligan on percussion, Jonathan Mak on piano, Hunter O’Brien on flute, Kelsey Sham on harp, Teresa Wang on violin, and guest artist Thomas Frey on clarinet. The program features Toru Takemitsu’s “Rain Spell,” John Cage’s “Ryoanji,” and Somei Satoh’s “Birds in Warped Time II.”

The concert takes place in the atrium of the Beck Building. On Thursdays, the Museum is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with free general admission.

About the Performers The DaCamera Young Artists program is a professional-development fellowship for instrumentalists, singers, and composers. The young artists participate in performances and workshops at schools, museums, and hospitals.
