Russell Crowe stars as Nobel Laureate John Nash, a brilliant mathematician who accepted secret work in cryptography during the 1950s, only to have his career impacted by mental illness. A Beautiful Mind won the Oscar for Best Picture as well as Best Supporting Actress (Jennifer Connelly), Best Director (Ron Howard), and Best Writing. The cast also includes Paul Bettany, Ed Harris, and Christopher Plummer.
