    Members Tour “Emperor’s Treasures”

    The exhibition Emperors’ Treasures: Chinese Art from the National Palace Museum, Taipei, presents a treasure trove of emperors’ prized possessions, including works of art they created themselves. Explore the different roles that rulers of the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties had in the establishment and development of new artistic directions at their courts on this one-hour, docent-led members tour.

    In 1966, a sniper rode the elevator to the top floor of the University of Texas Tower and opened fire, holding the campus hostage for 96 minutes in what was a previously unimaginable event. Tower highlights the fear, confusion, and visceral realities on a day when the worst in one man brought out the best in so many others.
