    This 45-minute, docent-led tour explores the exhibition Modernism on the Ganges: Raghubir Singh Photographs and encourages visitors to discuss the art together.

    A Talk with Baijilal Shivranjani Rajye of Marwar-Jodhpur, India

    On opening day of Peacock in the Desert: The Royal Arts of Jodhpur, India, Baijilal Shivranjani Rajye of Marwar-Jodhpur talks with the exhibition’s co-curators, Karni Singh Jasol and Mahrukh Tarapor, about bridging the distance between tradition and modernity to keep the legacy of Jodhpur’s artistic and cultural traditions alive and meaningful.

    Oscar Nominees: Animated Short Film

    The MFAH is the only venue in Houston presenting all three programs of short films nominated for Academy Awards in 2018! Nominees for Best Animated Short Film include a Pixar tale about a lost-and-found box; an adaptation of a collection of Roald Dahl poems; and an ode to basketball brought to life by a legendary Disney director. Rated G unless otherwise noted.

    Beck Building

    Children up to 35 months old, and an adult caregiver, enjoy a multi-sensory experience in the galleries. Families sing songs, listen to storybooks, and take part in fun, art-related games and activities.

    Join in a lively storybook adventure that connects art with fun, entertaining stories. Recommended for ages 3 to 5.

    Sketching in the Gardens of Bayou Bend

    Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens

    Visit Bayou Bend during open-sketching hours, when guests are invited to draw from Bayou Bend’s natural woodlands and formal gardens. Paper, clipboards, and pencils are provided.
