The Misfits
In John Huston’s revisionist western, a newly divorced showgirl (Marilyn Monroe) living in Reno, Nevada, becomes romantically involved with a cowboy (Clark Gable). The supporting cast of The Misfits includes Montgomery Clift, Eli Wallach—and Thelma Ritter, who lends her customary acerbic wit to the melodrama. Based on the screenplay by Arthur Miller.
