Carolyn Pfeiffer: A Cinematic Life

October 20–22, 2023

Carolyn Pfeiffer, a film-industry veteran, introduces movies from her storied career and signs copies of her memoir, Chasing the Panther: Adventures and Misadventures of a Cinematic Life. Also available is the book The Ocean Is Closed: Journalistic Adventures and Investigations, a collection of work by her late husband, magazine writer Jon Bradshaw.

Pfeiffer grew up in the United States, moved to Europe after college, and currently resides in Marfa. Early in her career she became Claudia Cardinale’s assistant in Italy, later working for Alain Delon and Omar Sharif before establishing a public relations company in London. Pfeiffer also produced and distributed films in Jamaica and the United States, including a longstanding collaboration with Alan Rudolph.

“Carolyn was there at virtually every defining juncture of modern entertainment culture, from the French New Wave to the London music scene through the rise of the American independent film movement.” —Keith Carradine, actor and Academy Award–winning songwriter
