Drop-in Tour | Get to Know the Art of the Islamic Worlds

The new gallery space dedicated to art from the Islamic worlds showcases nearly 1,000 years of history and culture. The April 2023 opening of the Art of the Islamic Worlds galleries marks more than 15 years since the launch of the Art of the Islamic Worlds initiative at the MFAH.

The Museum’s own collection of art from present-day nations including Afghanistan, Egypt, Morocco, and Spain is enhanced by Persian masterworks from the distinguished collection of Hossein Afshar. Together these objects tell the full story of the rich artistic traditions of Iranian civilization.
