A must-see on the big screen! The frenetic Breathless follows small-time crook Michel (Jean-Paul Belmondo), who goes on the lam with Patricia (Jean Seberg), an American journalism student living in Paris.

Jean-Luc Godard’s first feature, Breathless helped launch the French New Wave, along with François Truffaut’s The 400 Blows. Inspired by B movies and credited with introducing the jump-cut to cinema, the film is stylish and audacious, full of cinematic and literary references. Breathless captures the zeitgeist of postwar Europe, when a young generation of artists challenged social, cultural, and artistic sanctions.
