Jan 20, 2016 - “In 1950 the Museum awarded John Biggers the purchase prize at our 25th Annual Houston Artists Exhibition for The Cradle, a monumental drawing that remains both the starting point and cornerstone of our African American collection Recent years have seen terrific new acquisitions of works by artists who have lived in our city; Dawolu Jabari Anderson, Trenton Doyle Hancock, and Mequitta Ahuja, to name only a few, have played a major role in giving our collection “The MFAH’s history of collecting African American art is closely tied to our immediate community,” Alison de Lima Greene added.

Mar 6, 2015 - rabbit, cut in 7–8 pieces, liver reserved 3 tbsp olive oil 1 onion, skinned and chopped fresh rosemary to taste 1 bay leaf 1 glass dry white wine pinch of sugar 1 garlic clove, skinned 6 anchovy fillets large white onion 2 green peppers 3 yellow or summer squash, sliced 3 green zucchini, sliced ½ stick of butter 1 small container of sour cream 1 package of tortillas (flour or corn) salt and pepper, to taste , soaked in milk 1 tbsp capers fresh parsley, to taste Squeeze a little lemon juice over the artichoke hearts to prevent discoloration.
