Anish Kapoor’s Monumental “Cloud Column” Installed at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston
Mar 27, 2018 - “I have admired Anish Kapoor’s work for more than 20 years. When we had the opportunity several years ago to acquire this precursor to Chicago’s Cloud Gate, I could only imagine that it would be as extraordinary for this city as Anish’s work has been for Chicago. Its elegant form and the subtle humanity of its hand-worked surface will fully animate this new gathering place for Houston.” The installation process began early Monday morning, March 26.

Eye on Houston: High School Documentary Photography
The 64 photographs selected for this presentation of Eye on Houston showcase work by 42 junior and senior students from Bellaire High School, Booker T. Washington High School, Carnegie Vanguard High School, DeBakey High School for Health Professions, Jack Yates High School, Westbury High School, Westside High School, and Wisdom High School. These talented students utilize photography as a tool for recording their perspectives. This year’s exhibition—the 23rd edition—brought more than 300 submissions to the Museum from across the Houston area.
