This virtual lecture series receives generous funding from Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Under Eileen Morris, founding artistic director, Ensemble Theatre produces and directs works by Black playwrights with Black actors, and supports a pipeline for Black youth to experience acting and staging.

The lecture takes place in Lynn Wyatt Theater in the Kinder Building. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Artist Stephanie Leal was selected to create the official Houston Host City Poster, and her winning design is primed for international visibility.
