  3. Book Launch | “Gego: Weaving the Space in Between” with Mónica Amor and Mari Carmen Ramírez

    Join for a fruitful conversation filled with insights into Gego’s practice and influence, as well as the ways in which Gego’s art has been variously interpreted over the past few decades. Plan Your Visit  Admission is free. Following the talk with curator Mari Carmen Ramírez, signed copies of the book are available for purchase courtesy of the MFA Shop. For more than 25 years, Amor has maintained a deep engagement with work of Gego, a key figure in the development of 20th-century Latin American art.

Asif Shaikh, one of India’s most accomplished embroidery and textile artists, presents different samples, textiles, tools, and materials used for embroidery by master artisans at his studio in Ahmedabad.

    Nov 30, 2012 - Established in 1982, the Core Residency Program at the Glassell School of Art offers postgraduate residencies for art critics and visual artists. Visit www.mfah.org/core for more information. Farocki (born 1944) is a filmmaker, critic, editor and curator who has lived and worked in Berlin for more than 40 years. Recent solo exhibitions have been mounted by the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Beirut Art Center, Lebanon; Kunsthaus Bregenz, Austria; and the Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow, Scotland.
