Latin Wave Celebrates 11 Great Years
Apr 21, 2016 - Ixcanul I always encourage filmgoers to come to the screenings presented by our guest filmmakers, who make Latin Wave even more special. Latin Wave, our biggest annual film festival, returns from April 28 to May 1 with 11 new films from Latin America. However, with careful foresight, Oso Dorado will not become a similarly “endangered animal,” and with the knowledge gained through our studies we can plan strategically for future exhibitions of this wonderfully dramatic work

Sep 20, 2016 - Read the curators’ notes, then find the autumn-inspired art on view in our permanent collection galleries! Orangey reds, golden yellows, velvety browns are hard to come by in Houston’s eternal summer, but a visit to the Arts of China gallery can satisfy the need to admire some fall colors. As fall approaches with colder weather, and leaves begin to change color, I imagine many us will want to wrap up in our own quilts at home.
