Feb 10, 2020 - Elizabeth Catlett’s wooden sculpture Black Unity (1968) depicts a monumental raised fist while the reverse side shows two placid visages side-by-side, communicating strength in Black collectivity. In 1967, the Organization of Black American Culture (OBAC), a group of artists and writers in Chicago, created The Wall of Respect, an outdoor mural on the city’s South Side.
