The boxes were often filled with small gifts, money, or leftovers from the previous day’s feast—a bit like a holiday bonus. Every year, Rienzi brings to Houston a holiday from across the pond!

A few interesting notes about the legendary actor and his films before you join us this summer: In 1932, a 28-year-old Guinness phoned John Gielgud, who was already a star of the London stage, and asked for advice about De Havilland turned 101 on July 1, and her celebration is a hard act to follow! But we’ve found a worthy successor in this summer’s series, Alec Guinness: An Actor for All Seasons.

On the evening of December 28, 1895, Degas photographed friends at the home of his close friends Louise and Ludovic Halévy. The very act of photographing friends brought pleasure and distraction along with the challenge of exploring a new kind of picture-making.

“ZEN-An” A Traveling Teahouse Experience
