Sep 15, 2020 - This area of our collection continues to grow rapidly, thanks to the exceptional endowment for acquisitions provided by our donors, with the late Caroline Wiess Law at the forefront. Gary Tinterow said, “In the dynamic spaces that Steven Holl Architects has designed for the Nancy and Rich Kinder Building, our distinctive holdings of modern and contemporary art will soon have the showcase they deserve. This date is adjusted from the originally forecast date of November 1, due to the effects of the pandemic, and recent hurricane preparations, on final construction work.

Little Kid Flicks is designed for ages 5 and up. Glassell-on-the-Go Brings a World of Art to Houston-Area Students
Jul 24, 2017 - The installation features work by middle school students from the African American Library at the Gregory School; the Carnegie Neighborhood Library and Center for Learning; and KIPP Voyage Academy for Girls. Our teaching artists and faculty bring mobile art classes to schools and community centers, encouraging students to create works of art using high-quality materials and tools. At the end of the school year, participating students and their families visit the MFAH to explore the galleries and make works of art in the studio together. Glassell-on-the-Go just completed its second year!
