A reception follows the lecture from 6 pm to 7 pm.

Five remarkable works of ancient Buddhist sculpture from the Xuzhou Collection appear paired with contemporary art in an intimate setting. Learn more about the exhibition and how it illuminates some of the ecological and ethical questions facing the world today.

About the Speaker
Consulting curator Hao Sheng oversees the Xuzhou Collection of Buddhist Art at the MFAH. Born in Shanghai and educated at Harvard, Sheng brings multicultural fluency and innovative curatorial vision to his work. He was previously the Wu Tung Curator of Chinese Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and has published Approaching the Buddha through Yale University Press.
