  3. “Pablo Bronstein: We Live in Mannerist Times”

    Mar 31, 2015 - Complementing these renderings are a small selection of porcelains from the Museum’s Rienzi Collection, displayed in cases throughout the gallery. They comprise a sequence of images of machines and details, many derived from the steam engine, which was the most advanced technology of the time. For the exhibition, detailed black-on-white line drawings printed on vinyl will stretch from ceiling to floor to form a two-dimensional architecture within the Museum’s Alice Pratt Brown Gallery.

  5. Oscar de la Renta Exhibition Opens in October at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston

    Aug 22, 2017 - In 1992, de la Renta became a designer for French label Pierre Balmain. He was the first American designer to helm a French couture house, a position he held until 2002. Displayed along with paintings and decorative arts from the collection of the MFAH, the creations on view offer a window into de la Renta’s world through a range of looks, from elegant daywear to resplendent evening gowns. Additional spaces include a repertory cinema, two libraries, public archives, and facilities for conservation and storage.

    Sep 12, 2012 - The online archive is available worldwide, free of charge at www.icaadocs.mfah.org and is intended as a catalyst for the future of a field that has been notoriously lacking in accessible resources. The first volume in a companion series of 13 annotated books was published, with subsequent volumes in the series published annually. Most recently, the MFAH and ICAA launched a digital archive of some 10,000 primary-source materials, culled by hundreds of researchers based in 16 cities in the U.S. and throughout Latin America.

Adamson is Artistic Director for Design Doha, a biennial in Qatar; curator at large for the Vitra Design Museum; and editor of Material Intelligence, a quarterly online journal published by the Chipstone Foundation.
