Tune in for the virtual discussion on Saturday, August 1, at 3 p.m. Before or after, experience Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power at the MFAH, the final venue for the exhibition’s three-year tour. Williams for a livestream discussion about the ways in which Black artists engaged abstraction from the 1960s to the early 1980s.

Houston film and photography aficionados have something exciting to look forward to: the visit of Laura Israel on April 8 and 9. Join Laura Israel for “Don’t Blink - Robert Frank” on April 8 and for “Life-Raft Earth” on April 9. The go-to editor for New York’s film and music-video producers for years, Israel has maintained an active, parallel career working closely with Robert Frank, the legendary photographer and filmmaker.
