Post-film Q&A with filmmaker Alex Rappoport and moderator Rebecca Rabinow

For his debut documentary, director Alex Rappoport profiles his neighbor in upstate New York: abstract artist Peter Bradley (born 1940). When the two met in 2020, Bradley had neither sold many paintings nor had a major show in more than four decades. The film captures Bradley on the cusp of gaining well-deserved recognition. Of interest to Houstonians: Bradley worked with philanthropist John de Menil to curate The De Luxe Show, a groundbreaking 1971 exhibition at the De Luxe Theater in the Fifth Ward.

About the Speakers
Alex Rappoport holds a BA from the University of Kansas and an MA from the University of Texas at Austin. He is an award-winning cinematographer, editor, and producer specializing in documentary filmmaking.

Rebecca Rabinow is director of the Menil Collection. She received her B.A. from Smith College and her doctorate from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University. Before joining the Menil in 2016, Rabinow was the Leonard A. Lauder Curator of Modern Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
