But the group that constructed our summer installation, Mike + Doug Starn: Big Bambú, was up to the task—with some help from a few Houston-area rock climbers. I was so excited when the Starn brothers’ staff reached out to our rock-climbing club. I’ve been coming to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, since I was a kid.

Dec 7, 2016 - Among the Houstonians looking forward to our screening of Lonely Are the Brave is Michael A. Olivas, the William B. Kirk Douglas was the first film star I ever met, and the only movie set I ever got to visit is still Lonely Are the Brave.” See Lonely Are the Brave when it screens on 35mm on Friday, December 16! We rode our bikes there and saw Kirk Douglas getting in a jeep to ride up to the top of a ridge, where he then got onto a horse for one of the escape scenes. Gena Rowlands was nearby, causing in me a lifelong love for her.

See the documentary on December 3 & 4, and visit the Circle of Bosch painting, located on the second level of the Beck Building in gallery 215. In in our own exhibitions, such as our 2015–16 show on Joachim Wtewael, we try to highlight conservation issues and investigations of paintings using technologies such as x-radiology and infrared photography.
