    August 19, 2023 MFAH members at the Family Level and above are invited to reserve tickets for an art-making activity led by a teaching artist. “Impressionist and Post-Impressionist Masterpieces from the Pearlman Foundation” is organized by the Princeton University Art Museum in collaboration with the Henry and Rose Pearlman Foundation.           Impressionist and Post-Impressionist Masterpieces features outstanding works by art stars including Cezanne, Degas, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Manet, and Modigliani—all presented within the context of these artists’ experiences.

    About the Speakers Virginia Moon is the Associate Curator of Korean Art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Bradley Bailey is the Ting Tsung and Wei Fong Chao Curator of Asian Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Lecture | Korean Art: From L.A. to Houston—One Story at a Time Speakers: Virginia Moon, LACMA; and Bradley Bailey, MFAH This conversation explores the latest installation of Korean art at the MFAH. The lecture focuses on the loans from the Korean art collection at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art), along with new acquisitions in the MFAH collection.     Sarah Kielt Costello (PhD, SUNY Binghamton) is a professor of art history and director of the Humanities Program at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Learn more about material cultures of the ancient worlds with Danielle Smotherman Bennett, assistant research curator and consulting curator for Art and Life in Imperial Rome: Trajan and His Times. Sophie Crawford-Brown (PhD, University of Pennsylvania) is assistant professor of art history and director of the program in Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations at Rice University.
