Take a trip through the Museum in person or online, and discover amazing art in the modern and contemporary collections. Print the downloadable guides to use at home, or bring them with you to the MFAH—the choice is yours. Homeschool Family Workshops provide curriculum-linked gallery experiences and studio projects for homeschool families in the Houston area.

Art for the Mind and Spirit
Sep 7, 2012 - Anyone who knows anything about Houston knows that our city is famous for its massive, state-of-the-art Medical Center. The children are not always able to visit the museum in person, so Art for the Mind and Spirit has to be creative with its teaching materials. “What I take away with me from every visit is the awareness of just how much the artistic process can affect a child’s mood in a positive way. I see their self-confidence increase and their spirits uplifted.”

Adamson is Artistic Director for Design Doha, a biennial in Qatar; curator at large for the Vitra Design Museum; and editor of Material Intelligence, a quarterly online journal published by the Chipstone Foundation. Plan Your Visit The lecture takes place in Brown Auditorium Theater in the Law Building. Capacity is limited, and seating is first come, first served.
