You can purchase a screening of Bacurau, just as you’d buy a movie ticket, and you can watch the film at home through April 7. A Community Coming TogetherBacurau is a cathartic and enigmatic film. When the violence happens, it’s shocking, so this movie may not be for all viewers. Bacurau’s prevailing theme is a community coming together during difficult times.

A few months later, the film swept the Macondo National Film Awards in Bogota! The vision of the Museum, our creative partner Fundación PROA (Buenos Aires), and sponsor Tenaris has always been for Latin Wave to encourage the discovery of new filmmaking talent. Industry professionals such as filmmakers, actors, and producers visit to present and discuss their movies.

Teamwork Saves a Great Work of Art for Houston’s Future
Aug 22, 2019 - The call for help came September 6, 2017, from our trustee Sarah Trotty. We got it to be stable, to buy time, until the dedicated conservator, Scott Haskens, could be hired for the project. How does it look now? It looks wonderful! You can’t tell that there was any damage. Then, the Museum coordinated with our construction company, McCarthy, to patch the roof. Our conservators, led by Soni Bomford, started putting tissue facing on the fragile sections to stabilize them.
