About the SpeakerRosemary Crill was senior curator for South Asia at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London until her retirement in 2016. This exhibition brings the extraordinary Parpia Collection to Houston audiences for the first time. The Parpia Collection reflects India’s myriad regional traditions. Her books include Chintz: Indian Textiles for the West, The Fabric of India, Indian Embroidery, Indian Ikat Textiles, and Marwar Painting: A History of the Jodhpur Style.

Apr 1, 2015 - For the Houston presentation, Worthington has worked with MFAH staff to take advantage of the theatrical stage of Cullinan Hall. For the first time, audiences outside of London, Moscow, Seattle, and New York will have the opportunity to experience this enchanting work. At the same time, I was experimenting with some software for vision recognition, so slowly the monsters evolved . . . the rest is history.”

“Adios Utopia: Dreams and Deceptions in Cuban Art Since 1950” Opens This March, in Houston
Feb 2, 2017 - Not merely used as tools for propaganda, Cuban posters became international reference points for innovations in graphic design and political messaging. Major support for the exhibition is provided by the Ford Foundation; The Diane and Bruce Halle Foundation and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. She has written widely for exhibition catalogues and art publications. Vega has twice been awarded the Annual Prize for Cultural Research and is a member of the Cuban National Heritage Commission.
