She went on to receive two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, and in 2023 she was inducted into the International Photography Hall of Fame. The Museum’s Hirsch Library recently acquired more than 50 photographically illustrated books from Nettles. The acquisition brings to the MFAH a particularly rich collection associated with this singular photographer.
