Aug 13, 2025 - Trained in the traditions of the Bauhaus, for the past 50 years Prühl has relied on nature for inspiration—its flora, fauna, and animalia. The MFAH is also home to the Glassell School of Art, with its Core Residency Program and Junior and Studio schools; and the International Center for the Arts of the Americas (ICAA), a leading research institute for 20th-century Millions of miles of roads criss-crossing the nation, shopping centers, roadside cafes, motels, drive-in movies, and gas stations are all physical manifestations of our car-centered culture.

A Collector of People and Places
Jun 4, 2012 - More than 50 years after Abrams purchased his first drawing, it’s clear to see he doesn’t regret it for a minute. With nine works by Rembrandt and nearly 50 sheets by his pupils and followers, the exhibition spans this range of subject matter. For Abrams, one of the great things about drawings is that they are often more spontaneous than paintings and reflect the thinking of the artist at a particular moment or time.

Participants meet every Friday for seminar and critique with a variety of art professionals to collectively examine their practice and its place in our changing world. We adjust our eyes and ask the stories to transform, to grow legs and become tangible beings that live among us.
