A distinguished collector of American painting, sculpture and decorative arts, Mrs. Wilson has, over the years, avidly supported the Museum’s American-art exhibitions and educational programming.

  2. Harun Farocki: Art/Work and the Invisible Hand

    Nov 30, 2012 - The exhibition consists of a video installation (a two-channel video and a single-channel video) that investigates the implications of the increasing autonomy of machines. His development of the film essay and critical engagement as editor of the journal Filmkritik (1974–84) have had a decisive influence on a generation of artists and filmmakers. Farocki (born 1944) is a filmmaker, critic, editor and curator who has lived and worked in Berlin for more than 40 years.

  3. Raqib Shaw: Ballads of East and West

    “I am a spectator, yet at the same time, I am a player.” He paints with porcupine quills and fine needles to render the precise details of delicate flowers or distant mountains, which are outlined in embossed gold. Born in India in 1974, Shaw spent most of his childhood in the Valley of Kashmir—a beautiful yet long-disputed territory marked by turmoil. On a trip to London in 1993, he fell in love with the Italian and Northern Renaissance paintings at the National Gallery. He eventually moved to London in 1988 to study art and has lived there ever since.

    A. L. Ballard; Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Pye is a Round 16 Lawndale Artist Studio Program Participant for the 2022–23 season. Mitchell Reece (born 1990, Houston), lives and works in Houston as a graphic designer, educator, and interdisciplinary artist.
