Shirley Clarke’s portrait of Texas jazz visionary Ornette Coleman chronicles the musician’s story and captures the premiere of a new work in his hometown of Fort Worth in 1983. The film includes contributions from William S. Burroughs, Don Cherry, Buckminster Fuller, Brion Gysin, Charlie Haden, and Yoko Ono.
Preceded By
Dick Fontaine’s rarely seen short film “David, Moffett, and Ornette,” documenting the Ornette Coleman Trio at a Paris studio in 1966.
