About the Speaker
Usha Balakrishnan is an independent scholar of Indian art and culture and a pre-eminent historian of Indian jewelry. Balakrishnan provides curatorial and art advisory services to assist museums, private collectors, and corporate entities in building historic art collections. She pioneered the Brooklyn Museum's Mughal Jewelry project and worked with Sotheby's as an Indian representative for the international auction house.
