You are invited to an artist panel for Patterns of Liberation: The Quilt Code of the Underground Railroad. This exhibition marks the culmination of a year-long residency at the Glassell School of Art for members of the Jubilee Quilt Circle, a program of the Community Artists’ Collective.

Patterns of Liberation highlights the enduring power of quilting traditions and the stories they carry. The quilts created for this exhibition engage with narratives that have linked quilt patterns to the Underground Railroad, honoring both the creativity of these designs and the resilience of those who sought freedom.

Moderated by April M. Frazier. Panelists include Leslie Abrams, Michelle Barnes, Patricia Chandler, Alyce Coffey, Trish Henderson, Sakeenah Mubashshir, Hastle Murray, Mike Wicklander, and Daniel Williams.
