Jordan "J Lū" Lumpkins is a Houston-based mixed media artist whose work excavates the layers of identity formation among young Black males through the meticulous construction of textured, material-rich paintings. Selected as one of four American artists for the UNESCO RésilientArt residency in Luanda, Angola, and formerly appointed Fall 2025 Artist-in-Residence at Houston Hobby Airport, his work resides in the permanent collections of the City of Houston and Newark City Hall. A 2025 SACI grant awardee and collaborator with Houston Arts Alliance through the Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs, J Lū's practice extends beyond the canvas through curatorial work with institutions including Project Row Houses.
