The series “Moonlight Movies” brings you classic films under the stars from your seat on the sloping roof of the Glassell School of Art.

SOLD OUT Advance tickets for “La La Land” are sold out, with a limited number available on-site prior to the screening.

Winner of six Academy Awards, La La Land is more than a highly acclaimed film—it’s a cinematic treasure for the ages. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling star as Mia and Sebastian, an actress and a jazz musician pursuing their Hollywood dreams, and finding each other, in an emotional celebration of hope, dreams, and love.

Each guest receives a complimentary bag of popcorn. Movie-themed cocktails are available for purchase: “City of Stars,” “Here’s the Fools Who Dream,” and “Seb’s.

  • Entry to the space begins at 7 p.m., and the film starts at 8 p.m.
  • Recommended parking is in the MFAH garage at 5101 Montrose Boulevard. Nearby street parking may also be available.

Helpful Information

  • A headset is provided to each guest for premium sound quality. 
  • Please do not bring outside food or drink.
  • Seating on the sloping roof is first come, first served.
  • Dress comfortably for Houston weather and backless bench seating. Feel free to bring a stadium seat or cushion.
  • No refunds or exchanges of tickets.
  • In the event of inclement weather, the film will be moved to the Lynn Wyatt Theater in the Kinder Building. 
  • Restrooms are available inside the Glassell School of Art.
  • On these Fridays, Cafe Leonelli stays open until 8 p.m. Le Jardinier is open until 10 p.m.
  • Pets may not be brought into the Museum; service animals on leashes and under their owners’ control are welcome.
