Emilia Pérez

“The big Golden Globe winner” —Houston Chronicle

“Emilia Pérez” won four Golden Globe awards, including Best Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy. It is shortlisted for Best International Feature Film at the Academy Awards on March 2.

From renegade auteur Jacques Audiard comes Emilia Pérez, an audacious fever dream that defies genres and expectations. Through a vivid mixture of liberating song, dance, and bold visuals, this odyssey follows four remarkable women in Mexico as they pursue happiness.

A fearsome cartel leader (Karla Sofía Gascón) wants to fake his own death so that he can live as the woman he has always dreamed of being. S/he enlists the help of Rita (Zoe Saldaña), an unappreciated lawyer stuck in a dead-end job, to pull off the task. Written and directed by Audiard (Rust and Bone; A Prophet), the two-time Cannes-winning film also stars Selena Gomez, Adriana Paz, and Edgar Ramírez.
