Virtual Conversation | Light of Asia
The World Faiths Initiative is made possible by a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. Todd Lewis, professor of Asian religions at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, elaborates on the significance of Light and Awakening in a Buddhist context. Light of Asia: A Conversation about Light and Buddhism Organized through the Museum’s World Faiths Initiative, this program celebrates the newly announced long-term loan of the Xuzhou Collection of Buddhist Art to the MFAH.

Jan 31, 2018 - The exhibition of 40 works presents a key moment in the history of European art through the artistic legacy of Pope Paul III. Additional spaces include a repertory cinema, two libraries, public archives, and facilities for conservation and storage. Accompanying this painting is a monumental, 10-sheet engraving of the fresco by Giorgio Ghisi, which enabled widespread dissemination of Michelangelo’s design across Europe.

Intern Project Uncovers Fun Facts about MFAH Films
Sep 13, 2019 - It’s a wonderful reflection of the Museum’s dedication to celebrating the history of cinema. With more than 10,000 entries, the database serves as a record of every film the MFAH has ever shown, from 1938 to the present day. Anatomy of a Murder screened on January 23, 1974. Interestingly enough, it was just shown again as part of this summer’s Jazz on Film series, right after my internship started!
