Soto: The Houston Penetrable
Architect Paolo Carrozzino and producer Walter Pellevoisin—in tandem with the Museum and Atelier Soto, Paris—oversaw a team of artisans and ironworkers in France and Houston to bring this monumental work to life. Journey through the Egyptian Afterlife with Matthew Barney’s “River of Fundament”
Sep 1, 2016 - I am a lover of long Wagner operas like Tannhäuser, so time-based artworks that use their long format to fully transport the audience to other realms are pure pleasure to me. I fully intended to do a project with Barney at White Columns, but that space was devoted to under-known artists, and Barney became famous quickly. In that novel, Mailer tries to describe the journey after death as the Egyptian minds understood that realm.

New Year Reflections
Dec 30, 2011 - Presently, it is not unusual for archives staff to drive several miles to our off-site facility, climb a ladder to retrieve a box and search through folders to retrieve what are essentially print-outs of records that exist on Achieving the functionality required for the maintenance of e-records will allow the MFAH Archives to continue to acquire personal papers, as these collections invariably become born-digital. It will support the goals of the MFAH’s Long-Range Plan with regard to collecting, preservation, research and interpretation, and will reflect well on our ability to be effective custodians.
