Art + Paper

Art + Paper supports the collection and activities of the prints and drawings department at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Membership in the group fosters a deeper appreciation for the graphic arts and encourages the understanding and collecting of works on paper through a series of exciting events with artists, collectors, curators, conservators, and other experts. Members are treated to special previews, lectures, behind-the-scenes tours, and visits to artists’ studios and private collections. Membership dues directly support the prints and drawings department, and members are honored at an annual vote where they select objects to accession for the Museum’s permanent collection.

Past program highlights include:

• Exclusive studio visit with Houston-based artist Terrell James.
• Private, after-hours tour of the exhibition Gauguin in the World with MFAH curators Dena Woodall and Ann Dumas.
• Cocktail reception and exhibition viewing at Seven Sisters gallery.
