Cost for Students

If your students need to complete an assignment, they receive free Museum admission when they show their student ID and the assignment instructions. Without assignment instructions, they can receive special student admission prices with ID. Learn more about admissions, including free Thursdays.

University Membership Program
The annual membership program for area colleges and universities is available for the entire school or specific departments. The program offers free admission, discounts, and special events for undergraduate students enrolled in participating schools. Contact [email protected] with questions or for more information.

 

Book a Teacher-Guided Visit

Crafting and leading a teacher-guided visit for your students allows the flexibility to focus on works of art or the architecture of our campus relevant to your course’s curriculum.

Research and Resources

Hirsch Library for Art Research and the MFAH Archives
The Hirsch Library is one of the largest art research libraries in the Southwest. Make an appointment, and a helpful research librarian can assist in finding everything you need among the thousands of resources available. You may also browse the online catalog, as well as access records kept by the MFAH Archives, including photographs, newspaper clippings, audio recordings, architectural drawings, and correspondence.

Study Center for Photography and Works on Paper
Instructors interested in specific works that are not on view may make an appointment to see art in the Anne Wilkes Tucker Photography Study Center, the only facility of its kind in the Southwest. The study center is open by appointment and is available for groups of up to 20 to view works from the MFAH collections of photography and works on paper.
