Certificate of Achievement Program

The Glassell School of Art offers comprehensive certificate programs designed for adults seeking to build foundational skills and deepen their expertise in their chosen fields. Two programs are available: the Certificate of Achievement (COA) Program and the Certificate Program.

Certificate of Achievement Program

A comprehensive fine arts program has been developed in which students work toward a Certificate of Achievement in one of the following subjects: drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, or jewelry. A student may begin this program at any point. The program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of their major and a basic understanding of art history. A wide range of course offerings for elective credits supplements the major field of study. Upon the student’s satisfactory completion of 60 specific credits, the student’s work is reviewed and approved by a certificate committee made up of Studio School faculty.

Students interested in the Certificate of Achievement Program should contact the faculty chair at [email protected] for more information.

Students earn three hours of credit for each successfully completed (grade C or above) course per semester. Certificate students are required to receive a letter grade.
